MEAL SERVICE
We provide two meal services called Nest Table every week, one in South Snohomish County and the other in Pierce County.It is a first-come, first-served service. A good meal is not only nutritional to the physical body, but it also consoles the mind and spirit. It provides comfort to the sad and hurt. To those who are prejudiced, it gives confidence; to those who have been abandoned, it shows love; to those who are guilty, forgiveness; and for those who are ill, it heals them. Lonely people experience friendliness, family, and a sense of belonging. Because everyone receives God’s care and compassion through the meal, it is a meal of healing. Also, it is a communion with Jesus.
South Nest Table
On the 1st of June 2017, we launched the South Nest Table for the homeless people in the Tacoma/Lakewood area. We partnered with Manitou Park Presbyterian church at 6613 S. Cheyenne St., Tacoma, WA 98409. We open every Thursday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. This place also has been closed due to the pandemic. However, we have provided lunch boxes every Thursday during lunch hours, visiting some homeless camps around the South Tacoma areas. Since January 2024, we have been preparing our lunch box at Parkland First Baptist Church at 1016 112th St S, Tacoma, WA 98444.
Birthday Celebrations
Every first Thursday for South Nest Table and first Friday for North Nest Table of each month, we prepare a birthday cake and celebrate the homeless people born in that month.
SERVICE DESK(Provision of Daily Necessities)
During the meal service, we provided some necessities to people experiencing homelessness for their hygiene and survival: toothbrush and paste, soap, shampoo, razor, socks, underwear, emergency bus tickets, or Orca cards. We also provide gloves, a hat, a rain poncho, a blanket, thermal underwear, a hand warmer, and a sleeping bag during the winter. If you want to donate, please get in touch with us at any time.
HAIR CUT SERVICE
We provide a Haircut service at the Nest Tables when volunteers are available. We have held it since the pandemic.
