Today I have met a lady at the Nest Table. She was so exited because of being accepted in a section 8 apartment. For last 3 months she has been looking for a place to live in desperately since she got the voucher. However, she didn't have any luck. DSHS has extended her voucher due date to 2 more months. We have prayed for her at the worship. I also have contacted two of agents who had a good relationship with Nest Mission regarding our rental assistance program and asked them to help for her. They were willing to help her. Finally she found a place to get in during the week. Thank you, Lord!
She had contacted over 55 apartments around this area. And this apartment in which she was accepted she has visited 3 times and got a phone call of acceptance. It is really difficult for homeless to get a section 8 voucher. Most of people are waiting for several years to get it. However, there is another obstacle to overcome even though they got the voucher. Hearing her story I have appreciated her for her persevering attitude.
